• Over the past several years, the Trustees of the Pension Plan and Trust of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston have reached agreements with various annuity providers to transfer Plan benefits for vested participants to highly-rated insurance companies, which in turn issued fully-guaranteed annuity contracts to participants.  The Trustees reached agreement with New York Life Insurance Company in April 2025 to transfer the final tranche of benefits, which means that New York Life will take over the retiree payments and all other participant benefits that remained in the Plan, effective July 1, 2025.  Coincident with that final transfer, which left no remaining benefits in the Plan, the Trustees voted to terminate the Plan as of April 15, 2025.
